Pentair Pentek Big Blue Filter Housings offer versatility to meet all large-capacity filtration needs, including high-flow and heavy-sediment applications. The extra-large housing allows for greater cartridge capacity, reducing the number of vessels required for high flow-rate applications. Sumps are available in both 10" and 20" lengths, and the High-Flow Polypropylene (HFPP) cap is available with 3/4", 1" or 1-1/2" NPT inlet and outlet ports. The 1-1/2" internal port allows a greater volume of liquid to pass through the HFPP cap more rapidly. Big Blue Housings are compatible with a broad range of chemicals and are available with or without a pressure relief button. They accept a wide variety of 4-1/2" diameter cartridges.

The Pentair Pentek DGD-5005 Big Blue Sediment Water Filter is a 10-inch, whole-house, heavy-duty, dual-gradient density, spun polypropylene replacement filter cartridge. Manufactured from 100% pure polypropylene, the DGD Series Cartridges are designed for purity and will not impart taste, odor, or color to the liquid being filtered. The polypropylene construction provides superior chemical resistance and is not prone to bacterial attack. The advanced design of the DGD Series combines selective final filtration with appropriate pre-filtration to achieve up to three times the dirt holding capacity of similar-size sediment cartridges and even greater capacity than standard spun or string-wound cartridges. The larger diameter of the filter reduces the particle load, allowing it to operate at higher velocities. The effective filter depth is increased to a full 233%, providing very high particulate reduction efficiencies and added loading capacity. These design and performance characteristics make the DGD Series Cartridges an excellent choice for all residential, rural, municipal, and commercial applications.

The Pentair Pentek 150237 Big Blue Filter Housing is a 1" NPT #10 whole-house, heavy-duty water filter housing with a High-Flow Polypropylene (HFPP) cap and a pressure relief button. This housing offers the versatility to meet all of your large-capacity filtration needs, including high-flow and heavy-sediment applications. The extra-large 10-inch housing allows for greater cartridge capacity, reducing the number of vessels required for high flow-rate applications. The 1" NPT inlet and outlet ports provide efficient water flow, and the pressure relief button on the cap makes cartridge changes easy. The DGD-5005 replacement filter cartridge, which is tested and certified by NSF International to a 5-micron filtration level, is designed to be replaced every 6 months or when water pressure or quality drops, for best results.
