Pentair Pentek ECP20-BB Big Blue Sediment Water Filter, 20 Micron

Pentair Pentek ECP Series Cartridges are manufactured from a special formulation of resin-impregnated cellulose and polyester fibers, providing a unique blend of materials that offers higher wet strength than regular cellulose cartridges. This unique blend also ensures high flow rates and dirt-holding capacity while maintaining extremely low pressure drop. The media is pleated around a polypropylene core for added strength, and the pleated endcaps of the standard cartridges are immersed in a thermo-setting vinyl plastisol. The Big Blue cartridges, on the other hand, have a molded endcap with gaskets, and the pleated ends are sealed to the endcap with a thermoplastic adhesive. Additionally, the overlap seam is sonically welded to reduce internal bypass, improving filtration efficiency.

The ECP Series Cartridge endcaps feature a color-coding system for easy identification of micron ratings: tan (1 micron), white (5 micron), blue (20 micron), and yellow (50 micron). This system allows for easy replacement and ensures that the appropriate filter is used for the specific application.

These cartridges are designed to keep your water clean and protect your appliances by removing dirt, sand, silt, and particulates. They are compatible with all 10" Big Blue housings and can replace any 10" x 4.5" heavy-duty sediment filter cartridge. Additionally, the ECP Series Cartridges have 33% more dirt-holding media than many competitors, providing a longer lifespan.

The unique blend of resin-impregnated cellulose and polyester fibers used in the construction of the ECP Series Cartridges makes them stronger than standard cellulose cartridges. This added strength ensures reliable performance and extended use.

It is recommended to replace the ECP Series Cartridges every 6 months or when a drop in water pressure or quality is noticed. The color-coded cap makes it easy to identify the appropriate replacement cartridge, ensuring hassle-free maintenance and consistent water filtration.
