Pentair Pentek GAC-5 Activated Carbon Water Filter, Under Sink Replacement Cartridge

The Pentek GAC-5 carbon filter cartridge is designed to reduce chlorine taste and odor in residential and commercial drinking water. This filter can reduce free available chlorine (FAC) by at least 75% in up to 25,000 gallons of water, at a flow rate of 4 gallons per minute (gpm), when the chlorine concentration is 2 parts per million (ppm). The cartridge is made of granular activated carbon (GAC) filter media encased in polystyrene, with a spun polypropylene post-filter. The gaskets, made of nitrile butadiene rubber (Buna-N) and Santoprene (TPE, thermoplastic elastomer), seal the cartridge against the housing (sold separately). The initial pressure drop is 3.0 pounds per square inch (psi) at a flow rate of 0.5 gallons per minute (gpm), and the cartridge operates within a temperature range of 40 to 125 degrees Fahrenheit (4.4 to 51.7 degrees Celsius).
